▶ BOOK FOR THE COURSE
The aim of the workshop is to explore the technique of Naked Raku.
Through practical demonstrations and hands on work, you will go through all stages from construction to the final firing. You will use your preferred method of making for their pieces (hand-building, throwing, slab, etc.). We will then cover different methods of burnishing, preparation and application of decanted slip, preparation for the firing with different decoration techniques and finally, firing and post firing reduction.
The emphasis is on learning the technique rather than on production but participants will leave with enough experience to be able to continue creating beautiful pieces independently.
The workshop language will be English.
A workshop célja a “Naked Raku” technikájának megismerése.
After completing his education in Britain, Alistair Danhieux decided to travel, first in Europe then in India and West Africa before finally settling in St Amand en Puisaye, in France in 2003. Here he made a new start working in ceramics.
He completed two long courses at the CNIFOP in St Amand, one of the most important Ceramic School in France, concentrating mainly on throwing. He continued his ceramics education exploring his own style, notably with the Naked Raku technique and in 2007 set out as a professional potter. Alistair exhibits his work at ceramics fairs and in galleries all over Europe.
Miután Nagy-Britanniában befejezte tanulmányait, Alistair Danhieux úgy döntött, hogy utazni fog, először Európában, majd Indiában és Nyugat-Afrikában, végül 2003-ban a franciaországi St Amand en Puisaye-ban telepedett le. Itt kezdett új életet kerámiaművészként.
Két hosszú tanfolyamot végzett a St Amand-i CNIFOP-ban, Franciaország legjelentősebb kerámiaiskolájában, ahol elsősorban a korongozásra koncentrált. Tanulmányait folytatva, felfedezte saját stílusát -nevezetesen a Naked Raku technikát - és 2007-ben hivatásos fazekasként kezdett dolgozni. Alistair Európa-szerte kiállítja munkáit kerámiavásárokon és galériákban.
